This document is available in Simplified Chinese and English. In the event of any discrepancy between the two versions, the English version shall prevail.

This Privacy Policy explains how QiYue Astro ("QiYue", "We", "Us" or "Our") collects, uses and protects Your information when You use the Service at https://qiyueastro.com (the "Website" or "Service"). It also describes Your privacy rights and how You can exercise them.

1. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account information: Your email address, and (if You choose to complete Your profile) a nickname, an avatar, and birth information (date, time and place of birth) that You enter in Your profile.
  • Questions and reading history: The questions You ask and the readings, charts and results generated for Your account. This information is stored to let You review Your history and to provide the Service.
  • Communications: If You contact Us, We keep a record of the correspondence to respond to You.

Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: When You visit the Service, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) may collect technical information such as IP address, browser type, device information, pages visited, and timestamps for security and analytics purposes.
  • Local storage: We store Your language preference and login session in Your browser's local storage so that the Service works correctly. We do not use advertising cookies, and we do not sell or share Your personal information for advertising.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To create and manage Your account and authenticate You;
  • To provide the Service, including generating readings and storing Your history;
  • To process payments and add purchased credits to Your account;
  • To send You important service communications, such as verification emails, password reset emails, and notices about Your account or purchases;
  • To respond to Your support requests;
  • To maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse, and comply with legal obligations.

We do not send marketing communications unless You have explicitly opted in, and You may opt out at any time.

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell Your personal information. We share information only with the service providers necessary to operate the Service:

  • Cloudflare — hosting, edge network, database (D1), object storage (R2) and email routing;
  • Brevo — sending transactional emails such as verification and password reset emails;
  • Creem — processing payments for purchased credits. Creem handles Your payment details; We do not see, collect or store Your payment card number. Please review Creem's privacy policy;
  • Google — optional sign-in via Google OAuth, if You choose that login method;
  • AI model providers — when You request an AI reading, the question and, where relevant, the birth information needed to generate the reading may be transmitted to third-party AI providers (currently DeepSeek, Alibaba Cloud Qwen and/or Google Gemini) solely to produce the reading.

4. Payments

All payments are processed by Creem, a third-party payment service provider. QiYue does not directly collect, store or process payment card numbers. Payment information is subject to Creem's own privacy and security practices.

5. Data Retention

We retain different categories of data for the following periods:

  • Account information and reading history: retained for as long as Your account exists, so that You can access Your history. They are deleted when Your account is deleted.
  • Usage logs: retained for up to 12 months for security and troubleshooting.
  • Database backups: daily encrypted backups are stored on Cloudflare R2 and retained for up to 90 days.
  • Payment records: retained as required by applicable law (for example, records relating to purchases may be kept for tax and accounting purposes).

When You delete Your account, we delete Your personal data, except where we are required by law to retain certain records.

6. International Transfers

The Service is operated through Cloudflare's global edge network and service providers that may be located in different countries. Where required by applicable law, transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards. By using the Service, You understand that Your information may be processed in countries where data protection laws may differ from those in Your country.

7. Your Rights

Depending on where You live, You may have rights under applicable law (including the GDPR and similar laws) to:

  • Access the personal information We hold about You;
  • Request correction of inaccurate information;
  • Request deletion of Your personal information;
  • Object to or restrict certain processing;
  • Receive a copy of Your data in a portable format;
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.

You can exercise most of these rights from within Your account (for example, by editing Your profile). To delete Your account, email Us at support@qiyueastro.com from the email address registered to the account; we will process deletion requests within 30 days and confirm by email. You can also contact Us at any time using the details in Section 10. We will respond within a reasonable time and in any event within the timeframes required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 16, and We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If You believe a child has provided Us with personal information, please contact Us and We will delete it.

9. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date. If we make material changes, we will notify You by email or through the Service. Your continued use of the Service after the changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
